What public data allows (and blocks)
The YouTube Data API exposes lifetime view counts, subscriber totals, video counts, and channel publish dates for public channels. It does not expose:
- AdSense deposits or YouTube Analytics RPM
- The percentage of views that were monetized playbacks
- Geography of viewers (major RPM driver)
- Whether the channel is actually in YPP
Any “channel earns $X per month” headline built only from public views is a model, not a bank statement. YouTubeFreeToolkit labels monetization checker revenue tables as illustrative and pairs them with inferred monetization tiers — not official enrollment.
The daily views estimate formula
A simple planning shortcut used in our monetization checker matrix:
``
estimated daily views ≈ lifetime channel views ÷ channel age in days
`
Channel age comes from the public publishedAt` timestamp (minimum ~30 days in our tool to avoid divide-by-zero spikes on brand-new channels).
Example: 36,000,000 lifetime views on a channel about 1,000 days old → ~36,000 estimated views per day.
That number is not “today’s traffic.” It is a smoothed historical average. Viral years, dead periods, and Shorts spikes are all blended together.
Low, mid, and high RPM scenarios
After estimating daily views, multiply by example RPM values (revenue per 1,000 views):
| Scenario | Example RPM | Daily earnings formula | | --- | --- | --- | | Low | $2 | (daily views ÷ 1,000) × $2 | | Mid | $5 | (daily views ÷ 1,000) × $5 | | High | $10 | (daily views ÷ 1,000) × $10 |
Monthly ≈ daily × 30. Yearly ≈ daily × 365.
These RPM anchors are illustrative. Finance and B2B niches often exceed $10 RPM on long-form; entertainment Shorts-heavy channels often fall below $2 blended. Read what is YouTube RPM for definitions.
Critical caveats:
- Non-monetized channels may still show huge public views with $0 creator ad share.
- Shorts and long-form should not share one blended RPM without thought — see Shorts monetization requirements.
- Sponsorships, affiliates, and products are excluded from ad-RPM math entirely.
Monetization checker vs earnings calculator
| Tool | Best for | Inputs | | --- | --- | --- | | Monetization checker | Quick channel lookup + inferred tier + default revenue matrix | Channel URL / handle / video link | | Earnings calculator | Custom what-if scenarios you control | Daily views slider + niche RPM presets | | RPM calculator | Back-solving RPM from known revenue + views | Your own numbers |
Workflow: run the checker on a @handle for a first-pass matrix → copy the estimated daily views mentally into the earnings calculator to test conservative and aggressive RPM assumptions → once monetized, replace assumptions with Studio exports.
Common estimation mistakes
1. Using lifetime views as “monthly views.” Divide by channel age first. 2. Applying finance RPM to gaming vlogs. Niche and audience country dominate. 3. Ignoring non-ad income. Many creators earn more from brands than AdSense. 4. Treating competitor checker dollars as fact. Demand the same disclaimers you use on your site. 5. Forgetting monetization status. Revenue models assume eligible monetized playbacks — verify with Studio or owner verification on channels you own.
What channel owners should use instead
If you are in or near YPP:
1. Export last 28 days from YouTube Analytics → Revenue. 2. Note RPM, playback-based CPM, and transaction revenue separately. 3. Use calculators to forecast goals, not to report taxes. 4. Read inferred vs official before sharing third-party checker screenshots publicly.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I estimate another creator’s exact AdSense income from public views?▼
No. You can only build rough scenarios with disclosed assumptions. Actual payouts depend on private monetization status, monetized playback share, and geography.
Why does the checker show three revenue rows?▼
They bracket uncertainty with low, mid, and high RPM examples on the same estimated daily view count. Pick the band that fits your niche, then refine in the earnings calculator.
Is estimated daily views the same as Social Blade “daily views”?▼
Not necessarily. Different sites use different smoothing windows and data sources. Our checker uses lifetime views divided by channel age in days from YouTube Data API statistics.
